Asynchronous video tutorial transmission by MOE, is now become synchronous, through availing them loaded on tablet and make use of it anywhere any time by student teachers and the school community. This created room for the teacher-student interaction in class hour, which was previously used to see asynchronous video tutorial using plasma television.
The advantage of reaching student with similar way in such tutorial that are prepared to the standard has so many advantages, such as resolving the problem of qualified teacher, having the video recorded lab experiments, having access to different materials at least through video where previously you do not have such access.
But it is highly affected by connectivity, absence of electrical infrastructure Or intermittency and the time left for teacher and student interaction.
The use of educational Tablet is simple that all student can use them with basic information, that does not need training. The technology included such as virtual lab, interactive educational materials, educational apps, motivates student to use them more than just reading a text books. The video tutorial that was limited to school compound and in class hour, are readily available just on their tablet to use them at home or ( anytime and anywhere.)
We have already piloted the project in two schools of two regions, Amhara and Oromia. The burayou general high and preparatory school is in Oromia region, where we installed educational server, wireless access point, wired network for computer labs, and distributed the tablets to students and teachers. In Amhara Region also, we have installed server, wireless and wired network with in school and distributed tablets to students in Chacha school, The feedback from both piloting sites, shows that it was successful and indicated the importance of the project and resulted in the decision to make the implementation in all region and all schools.
Planning for year of 2018/2019
the demand of the output of this project from reginal educational bureau is high that , we can not cover by importing tablet nd serer from abroad. to solve this problem we have entered into agreement with Compulab (a company from Israel, in consulting on th establishment of assembly line locally. hence we have identified the tablet spec, collected that samples and tested and seen to have better performance to be used for the implementation
